Beads & Profiles
The performance of any system is reliant upon robust detailing at interfaces and terminations. Alumasc Facades has developed a range of beads and profiles that ensure that the integrity of its EWI and render only systems can be maintained in these critical areas.
Alumasc’s range includes base profiles, corner beads, stop beads, drip profiles and movement joints in a range of materials including:
- Stainless steel;
- Galvanised steel; and
Alumasc has produced a suite of typical CAD detail drawings for each system, demonstrating typical uses of the beads and profiles. However, for specific guidance on the most suitable product for your project’s requirements, please consult Alumasc’s technical team.
Mechanical fasteners are integral to the structural performance of External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems. The fixing type and fixing pattern is specified to suit each project’s specific load requirements and the substrate type and condition. The fixings must have sufficient pull-out and pull-over performance to resist wind suction loads but must also be able to accommodate the self-weight and thickness of the system and any movement in the structure.
Alumasc Facades systems are specified with the most suitable fastener from an extensive range of fixings that have been robustly tested and accredited with European Technical Approval (ETA). For guidance on fixing types and fixing patterns, please consult with Alumasc Facades’ technical team, who can arrange site specific pull-out tests.
The EWI Gutter from Alumasc Facades has been designed specifically to address the problem of draining a roof without introducing a cold bridge at the eaves of a newly-refurbished EWI facade. The Alumasc EWI Gutter is also lightweight and quick and easy to install.
The new EWI Gutter system offers architects and home-owners a retrofit solution with a new build look. Manufactured from aluminium (and available to polyester powder coat to any RAL colour), Alumasc’s EWI Gutter provides a durable, low maintenance gutter solution with clean, contemporary lines at eaves level.
Standard profiles include Box and Ogee. However, bespoke profiles can be designed and manufactured to provide the required appearance for any facade.
