Insulation

Phenolic (Supa)

Alumasc Supa phenolic insulation comprises a fibre-free rigid thermoset phenolic core that is faced with glass tissue, so that it can be used in a diverse range of external wall applications:

  • Both low-rise and high-rise properties
  • New build and refurbishment applications

Alumasc Supa phenolic insulation boards are the most thermally efficient insulation boards commonly used in the UK:

  • Excellent thermal conductivity (between 0.020 & 0.023 W/mK) facilitates more thermally efficient facades or a lower overall construction thickness
  • Green Guide rating of A+

Grey EPS (Lite)

Alumasc Lite grey EPS insulation is generally specified because of the economic and lightweight way in which the insulation achieves the required thermal performance as part of an External Wall Insulation (EWI) system:

  • Typical thermal conductivity: 0.030 – 0.032 W/mK
  • A closed cell structure traps air and slows down transfer of heat towards cooler air
  • Contains graphite which underpins the structural integrity of the insulation
  • Lightweight: 19 kg/m3
  • Low moisture absorption and high resistance to mould growth
  • Class E reaction to fire

Alumasc Lite grey EPS insulation can be used with most Alumasc render systems, including Silkolitt Lite, DashAgg Lite and VBriQ Lite in the following applications:

  • New-build or refurbishment projects
  • Masonry substrates on low-rise and, in some instances, on high-rise buildings
  • Steel frame structures on low-rise buildings

Mineral Wool (Pro)

Alumasc Pro mineral wool insulation is generally specified on both low- and high-rise constructions due to its exceptional performance relating to a range of construction issues:

  • A non-combustible insulation that is A1 rated in accordance with BS EN 13501-1
  • Thermal conductivity of 0.039 W/mK
  • Acoustic properties, typically reducing the weighted sound reduction index by between 5 and 8 dB
  • Excellent environmental properties – containing no gases with ODP or GWP and being recyclable
  • Dual density allows:
    • compression to take up minor imperfections in the substrate; and
    • a higher density outer face that is ideal for the application of external renders and brick slips

Alumasc Pro mineral wool insulation can be used with most Alumasc render systems, including Silkolitt Pro, DashAgg Pro and VBriQ Pro in the following applications:

  • New-build or refurbishment projects
  • Masonry, steel frame or timber frame structures
  • Low-rise and high-rise buildings (i.e. greater than 18 m)
