Alumasc Facades by K Rend has worked with award-winning housing provider Salix Housing on a number of rendered high-rise blocks within the Greater Manchester area over the last few years. Mulberry Court was one of three high-rise properties that was constructed by Seddon Construction using systems from Alumasc Facades by K Rend.
The 1960s high-rise building, which contains 96 properties was rejuvenated with Silkolitt+ Lite: high-performance silicone renders with grey EPS insulation. The 3 properties developed were Magnolia Court, Sycamore Court, and Mulberry Court – with Mulberry Court winning an award for Regional Large-Scale Project of the Year at the Energy Efficiency Awards held in 2017. The award recognises energy efficiency measures introduced by the Government following the Energy Act 2013. These measures help homeowners reduce their energy bills, tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions.
Nikki Waud from Seddon said: “We’re thrilled to be recognised for our work at Mulberry Court, but everything we do is built on strong and ongoing partnerships. Working together with Salix, Alumasc Facades by K Rend and Procure Plus to deliver this major improvement project not only provided an energy efficient solution for residents but also maximised our investment in the local area ensuring training, development, and jobs for local people. Well done to all involved!”
